Lancashire NHS Wellbeing and Mental Health Helpline

Offers support and information to anyone who may be concerned about their own mental health or that of someone they know. Call 0800 915 4640. The Helpline provides immediate emotional support for anyone experiencing distress, and can provide information about mental health support.

Blackpool Talking Therapies

Blackpool Talking Therapies service, (formerly known as Supporting Minds), offers a range of free psychological therapies to people aged 16 and over: https://www.blackpoolteachinghospitals.nhs.uk/services/talking-therapies

Active Lives

Active Lives gives Blackpool Residents free or low cost access to a number of schemes and programmes that can help you make healthy life changes, including weight management, exercise referrals and active travel schemes.

Samaritans

Whatever you’re going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. They’re available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Call 116 123 the Samaritan will listen to you and help you talk through your concerns, worries and troubles.

Alternatively, you can email jo@samaritans.org – it may take several days to get an email response.

FYI Directory

The FYI directory is an information resource for people and professionals across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. FYi Directory is a website that helps you find free or low cost services that support people on the Fylde Coast with health or social care needs: https://www.fyidirectory.co.uk/directory

It brings together information about a wide range of local health and council services, community clubs, social groups, wellbeing activities and events into one comprehensive source. It also includes Blackpool’s Local Offer for Children and Young People with Special Education Needs or Disabilities.

The Streetlife Trust

A youth work charity providing emergency shelter and support to vulnerable and homeless young people aged 16-25 in Blackpool and surrounding areas: https://wearestreetlife.org/

Lancashire Women:

Lancashire Women are a leading charity, supporting an average of 5000 people each year in Lancashire to improve their lives and push through the barriers they face.

We offer support with employment support, mental health and wellbeing support (1 to 1 sessions and group sessions), money advice and energy advice. We also have a Justice & Safety team who work with women in the justice system or women who might face homelessness or domestic abuse: https://lancashirewomen.org/about/
